"Pension Nostalgia is right next to the free shuttle bus stop - Alpine Chalet. You can catch this bus to at least three of the main resorts - Happo-one; Kakuba47/Goryu; and Iwatake. It is in a quiet area with other guest houses as neighbours. It is walking distance to restaurants and bars and Echoland which is quite lively is an easy 10 minute walk. Yukio and his wife are very helpful and accomodating, they offered to run me to the Supermarket on my first night and they were able to provide discount ski rental/lift passes for each of the resorts I visited. The accomodation has a drying room/vestibule and the bedrooms are upstairs. The bathrooms and toilets are downstairs. The bathroom has a shower and a deep bath which you could use as a mini-Onsen, but I never did. The bed room was quite basically furnished but the bed was incredibly comfy and the quit and cover exceptionally warm. The room was well heated with views to the mountains. The dining room where the excellent breakfast was served was also downstairs. It is possible to sit there in the evenings as well, but it is not a lounge. Overall, I thought the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. There was no frills but the friendliness of the hosts was a very big plus. Price was good. I would stay again, if I was looking for similar budget accommodation, although I did miss not having a large heated Onsen in the evening. "
